I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw this fabric, and each time I now look at myself in the mirror, I start smiling. I’m very satisfied with the fit of this shirt, although (and you can’t see) it is a little bit too flapping around the hips. I do need more pencilskirts, and I think I’ve just beome a shirt girl. Who would’ve thought?

Just love this fabric and the finished product! I’ve also got a piece of it, but haven’t used it yet, but got some inspiration now!

So rad. And great fit. I love the 3/4 sleeves. Did you use a pattern for this?

Thanks! I’m super happy with the fit – no wonder, as the shirt is based on a basic dress block I made at a short course at London College of Fashion. I don’t fit commercial patterns very well, so pattern cutting was the solution…

I like this Blouse.ich like your style. I’m also a fan of 50’s.and I think it’s great that you live it consistently.
I always wanted to know. you can wear these pieces even in everyday life? Do you do it?

Oh my, I wouldn’t dream of thinking my style as consistent! I admire the 50s style, but also get inspired by rockabilly, mod and punk… so you’d see me in a 50s inspired shirt dress together with Dr. Martens boots… So that’s also an answer to your question: I often wear the clothes I make in everyday. Actually, I prefer making clothes wearable for everyday life.

Yeah, I’m so glad it turned out whimsy and not only Hawaii… I don’t know if ‘Hawaii shirt’ is a common expression, but in Norway it is, and I think I managed to avoid it looking like that… I did some reshaping on the fit of my basic block (which shouldn’t be necessary, if you’d ask me!), and it is (nearly) perfect now… Yey!

Thanks :) It’s still asymmetrical though, longer and classy on the other side of the face. I’ll show you when I’m posting the V8280… ;)
The modified Kasia is my favourite skirt. i just skipped the pockets and front flap and ta-ta!

Can’t wait to see… I’m sure it will look great as a 50s dress! I wasn’t sure about the fabric at first, but this result make me want to make a dress as well… You go first, yeah?

And here I thought flamingos were for just yard decoration and vintage bedsheets! But this…this is simply cute. I like your shirt. It has just the right pop of color and goes vewy well with your skirt. I thought it was a modified Kasia at first. Nice ensamble.

Thanks a lot! I’d never thought I’d wear flamingo prints… ever! So this surprised me as well, and I’m happy with the result! The skirt is a modified Kasia! I’ve posted another project with that.
