Description

I sewed up 3 garments for the finals of a sewing competition I am in. The challenge was to use the 2013 Pantone Fall Color Report to create an outfit.

I put together a veritable United Nations of sewing patterns with designs from Brazil, Germany and the Netherlands. My goals: 1) To sew with a bold color palette 2) Make an outfit with three easy to wear separates. 3) Include interesting design details. 4) To be able to mix and match each item with many other garments already in my wardrobe— I wanted to make stuff I WILL wear on a regular basis.

The ponte knit blazer is from My Image, the top is from Burda and the skirt is from Manequim.

See my process and more photos on my blog Kathy Sews.
