Pencil Skirt—Designed by Siovhon Couture—It’s very easy
Step 1. Measure Hips and divide by 1/2 (ex: hips are 44"; I will cut my fabric on the fold 22" for non-stretch fabrics—plus seam allowance).
Step 2. subtract 4" (ex. for knits 22" – 4" = 18"
Step 3. Decide on length of skirt. Add 1" for hem and 13/4 for elastic casing (3/4" Elastic). In other words, add an additional 2 3/4" for the length of skirt (ex. If I want the length of my skirt to be 18", I would cut 20 3/4" lengthwise.)
Step 4. Once cut, stitch on seam up back.
Step 5. Add casing for elastic
Step 6. Hem
