Ok, so I know this is not massively Mad Men like…. But it is a shirt dress and there are loads of shirt dresses in Mad Men! I wanted a dress I would actually wear and not a costume. I love this material and although it’s not completely Mad Men, I HAD to use it! I used McCalls 6503 as the pattern and didn’t alter it at all. I wanted something with a small collar, feminine neckline and a gathered skirt so it kinda fit the bill. I had quite a lot of problems with the fit though, as it came up WAY too big and I had to take it in. I added piping which I really like, and cute fabric buttons on the top (just sewn on, no buttonholes). I quite like the pattern I think I might make another version in one colour as this one might be a tad busy. More pics and info on my blog Sleek Silhouette
