Shift dress with vintage Simplicity 6842
I had this fabric that I wanted to use for a 1960s style shift dress. I saw a Lilly Pulitzer dress that I liked and it became the inspiration for the dress. I modified the yoke of the pattern to create the split neck style on the Lilly Pulitzer dress. The yoke only is lined with stretch satin. The skirt of the dress is fitted with princess style seams front and back. The pattern is from 1966, which is a fairly accurate design for most of the Lilly Pulitzer style dresses.
Stretch cotton pique for the dress, trim and flowers on the neckline all from JoAnn fabrics
