I wanted to make a sailor skirt with a functioning front closure, with a back capable of being cinched in a bit. I followed the Sailor in Bermuda tutorial for the front closure, and based the skirt body on my sloper. The inside facing and seams were bound with candy-cane striped vintage cotton bias tape.
The blouse is a bias-cut cowl-neck, with gathered cap sleeves.
Both patterns were drafted by me.
Blouse body is printed silk charmeuse bound with silk georgette, both bought in the Garment District.
Skirt is blue silk noil from Fashion Fabrics Club.

Really nice! The lacing in the back fits particularly well with the skirt as a variant of the cinch belt I would have expected in broadfall “sailor” trousers.
