I have been coveting a Heidi dress for some time, and purchased the pattern a while ago.
I had some beautiful Amy Butler fabric on hand, so made the top immediately, but then put it aside because the weather was cooling down and i didn’t think that i would be able to wear the dress ’till next spring.
Spring has not yet arrived, but I decided to make the skirt and finish the project this week anyway. I decided to make an A-line skirt with pockets, instead of following the Heidi skirt pattern – A-lines are just more flattering to my shape and soooo girly and sweet.
The side-zipper went in like a dream and is barely visible.
I had a similar problem to others with this pattern – the bodice is very roomy. I made a 34, so will have to try to grade the pattern down if I make it up again. I have found that a belt works wonders to cinch it in, though!
I hope you like it.
