Burda Style For people who sew
Description
A lined, fitted bodice split in half down the front and sewn back together with “rungs” of fabric to make a peek-a-boo ladder effect…the bodice was the same pattern as in the last few dresses I made, I am getting quite quick at it now! The skirt is just a vast, gathered rectangle and the back is fixed with a skirt zip, inexpertly fitted and some hand-knotted rouleau loops and vintage buttons.
I made a two layer, four tier petticoat from some donated,flimsy curtains but the skirt stuck out quite nicely without the underskirt
Material Notes
I bought 20 metres of this, probably furnishing, fabric for £5 many years ago but my arms still ache from carrying it to the car park! All I can tell you is that it is cotton, and heavy!
