Description

I’ve always loved 1920s tea dresses and flapper style tunics, but they’re always soooo expensive in vinatge shops. So, I had a skirt lying around that was far to flouncy (I bought it originaly because I loved the fabric not the shape- how may times do others suffer that one??) and adapted it into this. As the fabric, especially the lining, is so darn thin, there’s no way I could wear this out in public (unless I wanted to be arrested!) so I think it shall have to be a nightie. Still have to sew on buttons…

Material Notes

old skirt, but of creative cutting, no pattern.

Very delicate and beautiful, and you’ve inspired me. Last year I bought a nightie on clearance for about four dollars. The top would never work for my body, but I was so in love with the fine, delicate fabric that I bought it anyway. I had hopes that my body would improve (ha! didn’t happen!) or that I could somehow change the garment to make it work. Now I see that all I have to do is use the skirt/bottom portion and create a new top portion that works for my body. Thanks!

very inventive! this will be really nice for summer nights i imagine. i don’t know if i would want to sleep with buttons on it, personally, just a thought. i love the 1920’s feel. very sweet.
