Burda Style For people who sew
Description
my boyfriend was a baker this year, and i said..ok i can either be a cupcake or a cookie. i choose a cupcake and i also gave myself a budget of ZERO DOLLARS.
so i had to make it out of resources i already had.
I had 3 yards of yellow cotton ( lemon icing)
a bolt of brown wallcovering (my cupcake wrapper) and some silk dupioni ( inside of my cupcake cape)
i spent two hours each night for about 3-4 days.
believe it or not the semi hardest part was my cupcake headpiece. i had to remake it twice.
i saddled stitched the back to a wool scrap i had
this whole costume cost nothing and was 100% upcycled!!!
but overall i loved it.
i even made my boyfriend’s baker hat and icing bag.
