In spring this year I wanted to buy a new summer dress but I could not find a suitable one, I’m too small and too fat (1,58m – size 44).
I remembered that there was a nice peace of thin slippy fabric in my fabric-box and a pattern, both suit perfectly together. So I sewed it, but I will never more sew with such a slippy fabric!
I had to make a lining and I chose a green golden lining fabric from my fabric-box, but I should have taken a white one, the colours would be brighter then.
Nevertheless – I love that dress, it’s a light dress for hot summer days.

Material Notes

Pattern: Lea – Modetrends fuer grosse Groessen (fashiontrends for big girls) magazine summer 2007, pattern No. 12
thin silky Rayon fabric (Viscose), I think
lining fabric
a long zipper for the backside

Total Klasse! I like it… you are not fat in any way. I am also a 42/44! It is quiet interesting to follow your sewing-process. I would like to have a look in your fabric-box! :)) There a stripes and also a flower print at this fabric – love it.

So pretty! You look beautiful in your dress. I love the styling- the dip in the front breaks up the pattern. The dress is very slimming! (I don’t believe that you are a big girl!)

(I am not so small either and I am just making the desire ‘burda top’ into a wrap dress) I think that wrap dresses are slimming for Rubenesque ladies!
