Description

I used McCall’s pattern M5873 for this dress (view A.)

The main part of the dress is a light weight cotton ikat and the binding details are made from cream cotton.

When i first built this dress there was a ton of fabric in the bodice which made the dress too puffy on top. I altered the pattern by removing about 12" from the bottom hem of the bodice and up the side seams. Then I gathered the skirt the additional 12" which gave it a bit more (needed) fullness.

    Looks like you have really improved on the pattern there. Looks good. Fabric a good choice too.

      Thank you…. I’ve been really into ikat fabric lately so I was happy to find this fabric (and a good dress pattern for it!)
