Waist band
Stitch side seams (seam 3). Press allowances apart.

Position waist band pieces on top of each other with right sides facing, side seams meet. Baste bottom edges
on top of each other and stitch. Trim allowance. Turn waist band, inside out. Press the edge. Pin open edges one
on top of the other. (a)

Baste waist band onto the bottom sweater edge (seam 4), right sides facing; Side seams meet. Stitch waistband
with a zigzag stitch or an elastic stitch. Trim allowances, neaten and press downwards. (b)
