Well its been a loooong time since I’ve posted on Burdastyle. To see how long – look at my hair length then and now!
Anyway. I’ve still been sewing but I’m only now getting my self around to posting the pics.
This dress is from a recent pattern off Burdasyle – Gathered Dress 06/2012 #126.
Spring has just started for us people “down under” and I’m sure this dress will be a staple for the next 6 months or so. It was very quick and easy – it took about 4 hours from pattern cutting to button sewing.
I found the body to be very “swing-y” so I pulled it in a little. I also added patch pockets to the front so I can carry my pocket change for all those summer trysts down to the corner store for ice-cream!

A wig is the solution. Make your friends believe you had a haircut (which is in fact a wig) and ‘let your hair down’ for formal occasions telling your crop is synthetic.
See how long you can sustain the mystification :) !

Ingenious! And I could have different colours (googles coloured wigs…)
