Back in December while at Harts Fabric, I got this awesome retro-feel printed cotton. Look at how cute it is! I loved the mint green color and the fact that it had an ice cream sandwich print on it. I knew I wanted a little dress made in this fabric. I decided on the Sonja Dress which has a lovely pleated skirt and edgy racer back neckline. I thought this member created pattern would make a perfect new spring dress!
I ordered these cool studs and jazzed up the neckline a bit…I always need to add a special touch to my projects, and these silver studs did just that! For the back, I kept with the metal theme and sewed in an exposed white and silver zipper. I love how both these details contrasted the vibrant fabric.
I photographed this dress on the High Line, which really brought out the vibrant colors. It was a bit chilly out so I styled the dress with black tight and heels. In the summer I would totally wear this dress with a large sunhat and gladiator sandals.
