For some reason I’ve always been afraid of shirts. I think it might be the button holes. Anyway, I decided to try my hand at a simple shirt. It has side bust darts, a stand collar, a fold over front placket, and cuffs with a one piece placket.
I made the pattern myself, but it’s a shirt. A shirt that helped me got over that seriously irrational fear. Maybe next time I’ll add a yoke and a separate front placket.

You have won me over with this shirt simply with your great choice of fabric.Red with white spots is always a winner. You have sewn your shirt beautifully and I think you are more than capable of doing a yoke and separate front placket. Then once you have mastered that you can then find another sewing challenge!!

Oh, I did all of those things when I was in fashion school. It’s not new territory, it’s just a land I don’t visit very often.
But thank you!
