Description

Patrones No. 269, #28 (Tintoretto) pattern.

This dress turned out a bit different than the original pattern. I have to work on understanding the Patrones’ sizing. I traced size 40 for the top and size 42 for the skirt part, as the Patrones’ sizing charts said those were my sizes. However, I had to narrow the whole dress a LOT. Approximately, 15cm in the waist area!!

After resizing it, I didn’t want to experiment with the sleeves, so I omitted them. Also, I slightly changed the neckline – made 2 pleats instead of 4.

The dress is fully lined. I used thin white cotton.

All in all, I think it is one cute dress :). And I can say it was a cheap one – cost me approx. $4.

Material Notes

Printed cotton
White cotton
Invisible zipper

I would like to find that pattern but I am unfamiliar with that maker. Do you know how I could get it in the US?

@Julietta: I thought you might use this information as well. I didn’t read the instructions, but while sewing the dress I had an impression it was designed to be loosely fitted. The pattern didn’t include a zipper, but a back button closure (the one that would enable you to pull the dress over your had). I like my clothes to be form fitting, so this might have caused the problem. I added an invisible zipper to the left side seam. Also, I made a slight sway back adjustment and cropped the top part a bit due to my short torso.

Beautiful dress and it fits you great now after all these modifications. I had my eye on this pattern too so it’s good to know that it is a little bit on the large side.

I like the dress, and the shoes match perfect! I’m thinking about cutting my first Patrones pattern. Hope it comes out just as pretty as your dress.
