oh ichigogirl, you rock my world. her cowl dress is as fun to make as it is to wear. though actually i don’t look much like i’m having fun here… fun-ner pictures and more story at oonaballoona: i, chi, GO girl!
i extended the cowl neck and serged the excess until it measured the original pattern neckline, then folded the drape to the outside so the stitching would show.
stretch jersey and lots of poly thread

this is absolutely fantastic. I want this. Only my size and possibly with maternity alterations because that’s the only time I look good wearing something so form fitting.

I downloaded this ages ago and was too intimidated to try, but how I have a serger and I’ll give it a go too. Thanks for the tips about alterations, since I’m more of a 38-40.
Oh, BTW, has anyone told you today how gorgeous you are?! ;)

well thank you!!! :)))
i’m a 38 on the bottom— i cut the pattern 1.5 inches ( 1 1/2 ) away from the fold for both pieces, and added a 3/8 inch allowance to side and shoulder seams. next time i’ll probably make an inch seam allowance. on the top i’m a 34-36. so i took out an inch at the center armhole, straight across. it’s so easy, especially with a serger!
