I found this charming fabric at the Needle Shop in Chicago. It is a lovely and fantastically lightweight cotton. I was looking for fabric to use for a Maxi dress. Something to kick off the summer. I based the dress design off of the Urban Midnight Dress available at Modcloth.com. Rather than making a halter back, I went with a more subdued quasi racerback – with the ties pulled through to create a bow. Although not visible in the pictures there are two pockets to hold secrets and treasures
multi-colored cotton lawn fabric for dress, cotton lining for skirt and pockets, zipper

Thank you for your generous comment. I used a night gown to pattern the bodice front. It is gathered into the waistband, which helps insure a snug and proper fit.
