Description

I made this coat for a client named Robert that contacted me over the internet. I created it for his Matrim Cauthon “Wheel of Time” Cosplay costume.

It took me only two days to complete the coat. I used the Butterick 3072 pattern, with a few minimal alterations. I made the front facings wider to accommodate a inner breast pocket, and I made inner side-seam pockets at the hips. I used forest/hunter green wool-look upholstery fabric that I found in my favorite discount fabric store. The cuffs are embellished with cream raw-edge gathered muslin ruffles set in to the cuff. There are 12 dark silver metal buttons on the coat in two rows “double breasted” style.

It was fun to get another chance to make a menswear costume piece!
