This diagram will help you draft the pattern. If you need help write me on my wall.{the look in the pictures just add gathers for that look}

    This worked quite well, I like the look, and the instructions were quite clear. My notes: 1. if you want longer pants, don’t measure 3" above ankle, just go full length, plus those 2.5" for self facing cuff in addition to that full length. 2. lower crotch looks better for larger frame ladies, in my opinion. I dropped it about 10" lower. I like it almost level with the length of the pants, maybe slightly shorter. 3. waist will work differently depending on the material. If you are working with stretchy fabrics, waist width will be enough to slip on, others may not work quite as well, add a few inches of width to compensate, or plan to insert a zipper. My fabric was crushed material, so it had enough slack to slip on, but I wouldn’t count on that if I made the pants out of linen for example. 4. I added 2.5" on the upper edge for self-facing elastic band belt. 5. I stitched all seems with a serger – wide edge, so I only used the machine for self facing portions – cuffs and belt. It cuts on time and gives a softer, stretchier seem.

    Hi, Crystal. I can use your help on this. If the waist measurement of the pants are equal to your actual waist, how do you pull the waist part over huge hips without busting stitches, lol? I WOULD use my hip measurement for the waist, but I’d rather hear from you first (also, not trying to use a zipper).

    Thanks

    Thank you so much for posting this!!! All the other patterns out there have too poofy of legs, and don’t account for tapering to the ankle. Once I have time, I’ll be sure to try this out! What type of fabric do you recommend?

    I’m really new to this after drafting the patterns do I still have to put on seam allowances (of course except on the CF)? Thanks, well I probably would.

    You need to specify that the picture of the girl with the black harem pants aren’t from this pattern. There’s a lot of fabric and pleating missing to get that look, plus there’s an obvious tie at the front that’s missing from your pattern.

    How much fabric do you need if you want gathers? and Where do you add the gathers? On the outsides or on the inside seam?

    Thanks a lot for this pattern. I’m a beginner but I plan on making a pair for my best friend, the zipper idea is fantastic as well. Wish me luck!

      try it on a test fabric first, amd see how it works so I wont make the pattern so big if you are adding a zipper to the garment. and you welcome. Go for a cool look with the sipper.happy sewing : )
