Take your shoes and remove the shoe laces. Cut your tape into angles or shapes. To create shoes like the ones I have created take your tape and lay it on the shoes to create a pattern. Once you have created your pattern you can begin to paint. Choose 3 or 4 colors and dilute your textile paint with water to create a washed look. Paint the white areas of the shoe not covered by tape in various colors. Get messy! It will create a better shoe, don’t worry about staying in the lines. Let your paint dry and then remove the tape quickly. Then you can either use your water color to fill in the areas or leave them white. Once your paint is completely dry then take an iron set on low heat and set the different areas of the canvas shoe. Voila! You have a new pair of shoes. You can also choose once color and dilute the textile paint. Paint the shoe all over and keep adding water to create a washed and solid look. Then take your feathers or item/items you have chosen and use the fabric glue to glue them to any area of your shoe. Next put your shoe laces in your paint water to create a water colored look and let them dry. Once your shoes are dry take an iron on low heat to the shoes avoiding the feathers and or items. You have now created your very own customized pair of KEDS. How do you do your KEDS?

This is so fun! I may try to create animal print colors and patterns on a pair of Keds!
