Burda Style For people who sew
Description
The Minoru Jacket sew-along with Sewaholic Patterns founder, Tasia, starts this Monday. I planned to participate, but I was just too excited so I already finished it. I made mine out of wool with a tiny black and white houndstooth pattern. The bright red lining is flannel-backed satin — very cozy, very… shiny. I shortened the collar by 2 inches and added exterior pockets. It has an optional hood but I left it off since I never use hoods. Such a practical jacket with a flattering shape!

Try it! The sew-along will help you, too. The zipper is a separating zipper which I found to be easier to sew in than any other kind of zipper. And raglan sleeves are WAY simpler than set-in sleeves. You can skip the topstitching, too, if you prefer — or use a forgiving patterned fabric like I did to hide wonky stitches!
