This is my version of the Kasia – which has to be my favorite BurdaStyle pattern to date. It’s amazing, flattering, perfect pencil shape, and really comfortable (and practical! with the pockets in the front).
Having said that, I think I made a mistake somewhere (involving the waistband) as my waistband seems to be half the width of everyone else’s! hehe…. Oops! Still good!
**Apologies for the repeat posting, for some reason my first one didn’t have photos showing up! :(
I used a houndstooth cottony-woolly material I bought at Spotlight, and normal satin lining. The houndstooth material was quite thin, but the various layers of lining and extra material in the pouch give it extra sturdiness.

Thanks for posting this, I have a houndstooth smock I’ve never worn that I’d like to upcycle into a skirt and think this might be just the pattern for me…

Great fabric choice. Did you follow the instructions? where does it open?

Yes, I did mostly follow the instructions – the main difference was where I placed the opening. I decided not to place it under the front ‘pouch’ because I thought it might bunch when I sat down, so I moved it to the back, for comfort!
As a result, the buttons are purely decorative – the pouch is a functional pocket, but it doesn’t separate from the main skirt…
That’s it I think! (apart from my waistband which is only half the width the pattern stated).
