This is the BurdaStyle “Melissa” High-Waisted Knit Skirt. I modified for maternity (I’m 25 weeks pregnant) by adding center front and back side seams for easier adjustment and making a larger size than I normally would (I would have made a 38 or 40 pre-pregnancy but I made the 42). Once I tried it on I realized it was sagging in the back, so I took in the excess at my handy center back seam as a dart—about 6" wide and 9" deep. Fits perfectly and I love it—great as a work basic or for casual wear.
Red cotton-lycra knit jersey, pretty heavyweight, $6/yard from Western Fabrics in NYC. I used maybe a yard or a bit more. I just ironed it but this stuff likes to wrinkle! But I wasn't about to make a wool jersey skirt with spring around the corner.

That skirt is really great! I´m week 26 and I would love to have it. I think pencil skirts look very nice with such a belly

yes, that’s daddy-to-be! the painting was a wedding gift from an artist friend (we are both cartoonists).

great job, i dislike the lines, it make you look too wide (any person looks wide with that sort of lines, more if that person is pregnant) but is a great great job. congratulations mom!

Oh, I know what you mean, but I will always wear horizontal stripes whatever effect they might have, I love them too much. And I AM wide—25 weeks along, my belly is huge, and I don’t mind that it shows.
