This is the BurdaStyle “Melissa” High-Waisted Knit Skirt. I modified for maternity (I’m 25 weeks pregnant) by adding center front and back side seams for easier adjustment and making a larger size than I normally would (I would have made a 38 or 40 pre-pregnancy but I made the 42). Once I tried it on I realized it was sagging in the back, so I took in the excess at my handy center back seam as a dart—about 6" wide and 9" deep. Fits perfectly and I love it—great as a work basic or for casual wear.
Red cotton-lycra knit jersey, pretty heavyweight, $6/yard from Western Fabrics in NYC. I used maybe a yard or a bit more. I just ironed it but this stuff likes to wrinkle! But I wasn’t about to make a wool jersey skirt with spring around the corner.
