High-waisted full skirt. Horizontal charcoal and white stripes.
*
This is my first sewing project since Grade 9 Home Ec—it was very easy! The simple instructions made the pattern less intimidating.
*
I serged all four sides of the 150cm x 50cm rectangle, then did a 2"-wide double hem on for the bottom of the skirt. I used a 1.5"-wide no-roll elastic for the waistband. First I sewed the elastic into a ring. Then I encased the elastic into the waistband as I sewed the waistband/top hem shut. I found this way easier than sewing a top hem, and trying to thread the elastic through a small opening the waistband/top hem.

‘Tis the season of stripes I think. Good call on that for a circle skirt. I’ll stop saying I’m going to have to make one because I can’t. Argh! Such is life! Thus I live vicariously through you burdastyle members. Great job on the skirt.

Great skirt. I’m loving stripey fabric at the moment.
