Another staple of my wardrobe, made with recycling. Pattern is a modification of my basic t-shirt pattern – slightly baggier, long sleeves, and a hood that is just two matching pieces stitched along a long curved side, then stitched to the collar in much the same way as a normal collar band. Two of them have screen prints, one has smaller pieces of patterned jersey basted to matching pieces of sweater fabric and stitched together. That one also has an asymmetric zip/ hood arrangement so the hood falls over one shoulder, 3/4 sleeves and strips that run all along the side and underarm from hem to cuff. Two of them have front pockets.
All are made from recycled clothes, mainly with thick jersey from tracksuits, with ribbing and other bits of jersey. Because of the felted/fleecy inside of tracksuit material, it’s fairly easy to work with. It’s not hard to find garments to cut ribbing off, but otherwise (as in the grey/red one, any stretchy jersey will suffice. Prints are hand screen-printed by me.
