As I (like everyone else) am not a standard size, and I dont have lots of money for a fancy shop bought dress form, I though I would make my own. First I made a paper tape cast of myself using this method, and then, as that one was obviously slightly larger than me and not pinnable, I made a second one inside it, covered in wadding, using it as a mould and then covering it in jersey, using this method. Now all I have to do is find a stand for it. I have already used it and it is awesome! I named her Agnetha as I was listening to ABBA when I covered it.

Thanks hon! If it helps with the motivation levels, I was pretty unconvinced it was going to ever look like anything for the vast amount of the time I spent making it! But I just carried on and it came out alright! (though I did then enter a period of horror at the size of myself!)

Wow! Seriously wow. I am actually in the middle of making a dressform myself (same here, no standard size) and I find it to be a rather challenging project. Yours looks so good I’m starting to think I must be doing something wrong ;)
