Description

This is a one-piece dress I made from Hollywood “Pattern of Youth” #1471. It dates from 1937.

I really love the fashions of the period and grabbed this pattern when I saw it on Etsy. It wasn’t difficult to make though the old patterns have no printed markings on them, just perforations and various cut-outs. You get used to it after a while! LOL

Material Notes

I made this from some mysterious polyester/rayon (?) fabric I found at the Salvation Army. It was a little hard to work with (didn’t hold creases very well) but has excellent drape.

More about this on my blog, Male Pattern Boldness (Search under “Cathy.” — she’s my identical cousin)
