This was a unique chance to walk around in a long dress, with a tiara and long gloves and not look out of time, cause it was carnival and tango festival!
The Audrey Hepburn dress was not that easy to make and wasn’t 100% succesfull, but no one could really notice!
I added an invisible zip on the left side and a side rip (this is probably not the right terminology) on the right side of the dress, starting about 7cm above the knee.

It sure looks fab! I’d love to see more pictures/details, but from the posted picture it looks really nice. Did you draft the pattern yourself?

I wish I had! I didnt have much time, cause the dresscode of the festival was a short notice (I was planning to be Cleopatra this carnival) and I used parts from different patterns, the skirt from one pattern, the front with the princess seams form another and I only drafted the desing on the back.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is my favorite movie of all time! Your dress is so lovely and what a gorgeous neckline! It’s a gorgeous take on Audrey’s dress.

I am in the process of making the Audrey Dress. How did you line the dress? I’m trying to figure out the attaching the back neck to the back with a lining inside – Hmmmm. I have a muslin so far, the front looks fine, the back needs to be altered. Any help I can sure use. aguzman918@mac.com. Your Dress is Beautiful.

Thanks! Well I didnt line it, cause my fabric was thick enough to look fine on it’s own! I had to hand sew a part of the neck, cause I couldn’t figure out any other way to do it. My problem was the bust, I didnt use the right kind of pattern, for the basic shape and it didnt fit well in the front. Maybe darts would have been better than princess seams… next time!
