Description

This is another pattern from Burda’s vintage magazine. It was challenging with new details which I hadn’t tried before, like bound buttonholes, both for the dress and the jacket. I had to look it up on the internet to see how to make it.
Linen is a great fabric to work with, and for the jacket I have combined raw silk together with linen.
I also like buttons you can cover with the same fabric, and I’m really happy with my holiday outfit ;-)

Material Notes

Linen, raw silk and satin lining.

To make such buttonholes is a real sewing art!!! You ensemble looks very modern and stylish. I like chosen fabrics and their combinations in the outfit. Great job. Just a ready page from a fashion magazine!

So stylish. And linen is my favourite fabric to work with. Bound buttonholes are the perfect finish too :-)

Veldig fint par. Selv om det er vintage, ser det veldig aktuelt ut med de stoffene du brukte. Jakken er så søt :)

The perfect ansamble! I love the dress, really interesting pattern. And I haven’t try making bound buttonholes as well, it seems so intimidating. Kudos to you for mastering the technique!

Very pretty! I’m thinking about the dress for springtime (I will use big buttons and eliminate the tricky buttonholes… ). The jacket is goregous but it’s too demanding and at the moment I don’t want to get involved with something so complicated…I have too many complicated thing around, I will collapse…

Thanks a lot Elpida! I love the style of the dress, and it’s not necessary with the buttonholes. ooh, I hope you will survive…

Very nice Ellen the dress is super cute I love the way it looks like a simple shift dress on the front and then BAM you have the cool exposed back. The Jacket is a great style too, and the buttons are so cool, another great outfit with such a professional finish, you look great it it.
