Over the summer I made this 1920s-inspired dress in the spur of the moment. I sort of rushed things (didn’t use a pattern except for a really basic one to help create the bodice) but overall I’m happy with how it turned out. It weighs next to nothing and is so comfortable…I could wear silk georgette all of the time! Too bad it’s such a pain to work with (at least for me!).
(Shown with and without the ribbon belt.)

So, so beautiful, and that jagged-looking pink neckline is just stunning!

Well, it turned out to be such an interesting dress! The detail in the bodice is what I like about it the most, but I can see how light it must feel… and you gotta love that about a dress. Congrats.

Those fabrics are really hard to work with, but you did an amazing job! I would never guess this is a homemade dress! Really nice :)

It looks so light and airy. Beautiful and ethereal. I think the belt adds even more romance to it. I love it.

Thank you! I can’t help but feel cheerful simply by wearing it. I love color for that reason. :D

I really love the upper detail. and you’re totally right about that fabric being a pain to work with, especially with insets the way you did them. I think it turned out very nice.

Thank you, I’m glad they look okay! The next time I do something similar I’m going to try some spray stabilizer. I’ve never used that stuff before but perhaps it will make things go more smoothly. :)
