Every year I try and make my self one party dress and here is the dress for 2011. I made this to wear to my husbands office party. This year I was running short on time so I ended up reaching for the Anda dress pattern again. This pattern has turned into my " go to " pattern whenever I need something FAST! It’s soooo easy. The dress is made out of black lace with silk panels on top. The panels are only attached at the neck and flow free down the dress front and back. A sequin trim belt is used to hold the panels to the dress at waistline. I finished the edges of the panels with a very small tight zig-zag stitch for a delicate edge. It was a bit tricky to get that stitch right on the edge of the silk. The neck and armhole are finished with a bias strip that is hand stitched to the inside lining. Because I could not afford to go with silk for my whole dress this year I ended up using a soft drape polyester fabric for my underlining fabric with a poly lining. I love my new dress! It’s so comfy and look great too.
