Lined Sergeant Pepper inspired jacket with peplum for the holidays. I was really excited about this sparkly wool fabric that I got from Britex in San Francisco. It is really fun and festive. I saw it and knew right away that I wanted to use it to make a jacket for the holidays. As pretty as it was, it was really difficult to work with. I was really fortunate that Jamie Lau (formerly from Burda) had blogged about the fabric and the problems she had run into. She made a dress and noted that the fabric frayed so badly that pieces needed to be finished before working with them. That helped to know. I just ran everything through the serger at the beginning. This was also my first time lining anything and my first attempt at using BurdaStyle petite pattern. Loved it. I didn’t have to make a single alteration to the pattern, very rare for me. The muslin fit perfectly and the jacket does also. I am really happy with the way it turned out.
