Description

Not my best work but fun to make.
Next time I attempt a circle skirt I am going to either draft from scratch or find a better pattern. This time I used simplicity 2233. I added my own waistband.

I thought it would be versatile but what you can wear with it is pretty limited. I think its due to the length and the width of the waistband.

Pretty unimpressive that the very place I decided to hold up my skirt in the photo is crinkled. haha ah well thats how life works.

Material Notes

It may be a Batiste I am embarrassed that I don't know for sure! It is a cotton with good drape.

Your skirt is so sweet, you can’t really go wrong with the circle skirt. And I love your shoes!

Thanks! That’s true anything you can twirl in is a plus :-) These shoes are also comfy which is pretty rare for heels so I better look after them.

Personally, I think it looks lovely…that drape is fantastic! Also, the color looks pretty versatile.

Not related to the skirt at all, your shoes are awesome.

Thanks to your kind words I just might wear it again sometime :-)
I think I just have to get used to the length.

I agree, it’s lovely. The fabric has just the right drape for the circle shape. Can you explain what was wrong with the pattern? I’ve never tried to make a circle skirt…

Thanks :) The pattern was OK. It was more what I added too it/changed. I added my own wide waistband and that was part of the problem.

Next time I make one I am going to put the zipper in the back, because I Installed a side zip and where the waistband overlaps in kind of loose and ugly. It would have been better at the back.

So if you are adding a wide waistband to your pattern my tip would be to have the waistband overlap at the very back rather than at the side.

Sorry if my explanation is not so great.
