This is a jacket sewn using two thrifted jackets. I called the Hitchhiker’s Jacket because I listened to the entire Hitchhiker’s radio play while tracing out the pattern pieces from the magazine, and then watched the latest movie nearly on loop while sewing the jacket together. Since the two are inseparable in my head, I embroidered a babelfish to the collar and named the jacket after the series.
Two thrifted jackets: a Danier black leather coat and a Nygard dark grey wool jacket. Eeking out the pieces needed from the jackets was difficult and I had to get creative with some panels. I used store-bought poly lining in dark green.
