I got this Hipster Deer fabric from Harts Fabric back in December, and I have been pondering what to do with it. I wanted a simple design pattern, and something that I could mix and match in my wardrobe. A skirt was the perfect thing to make! I decided to make the under skirt from this Layered Skirt pattern. I loved the dart placement and it fits so well!
My original plan was to add a shorter over-skirt…but plans changed, and after I attached it I knew it didn’t look quite right. Sometimes things look great in my head and illustrations, but when brought to life it fails to deliver. So instead, I added a center back exposed zipper to add some edge to this hipster skirt. This skirt pattern fits so great, and I can’t wait to make it in a bunch of other fabrics for spring and summer time.
