The bright orange and pale pink poppy fabric lend this skirt a springtime flair, while the classic high-waisted pencil shape gives it a little bit of sex appeal and keeps the design from being too hippy-dippy.
The waistband is a reclaimed cotton fabric with a pale pink poppy print, and ties to one side. The skirt is made from a vivid orange, 100% raw silk fabric. The tie at the side and then hem are edged in raspberry-colored thread.
I made this this past spring, and it was one of my first designs in a non-knit fabric.
