Description
Using the Burda High Waist Trousers 02/2013 #119 Pattern, I distressed a lightweight denim to make these elegant pants – a sort of kick up from my normal every day jeans and tee-shirt look.
I also added the braided denim belt to flatter my post baby belly figure, as well as added cuffs around the bottom of the pants.

Lovely! I’m just making these trousers and getting a bit disheartened that they don’t fit right, but seeing these has given me motivation to carry on!

Love the design, but this image reminds me of how useful it would be to give a diagnostic seminar for trouser fitting. Different kinds of “smiles” from the crotch (where the fabric folds, stretches or bulks in different ways) indicate specific fitting problems which have distinct pattern adjustments for correction. This particular image (with the “frowny” smile coming from the center outwards — the model’s hand in the pocket mitigates the appearance on that side somewhat) is the result of a too long “rise” in the pattern front, e.g. It would be great to show the different fitting problems and their solutions so women know how to adjust for their body type and all their sewing looks truly “custom” and so, too, the illustrative images used here. I think it’s just the way she’s standing and the design of the pants. (With no better way to word this) the crotch looks great to me.

This is such a good idea Casz! I have also experienced this problem a few times that there is too much fabric at crotch height (or whatever the name is). Please burdastyle let us do something about it! would be really helpful
