White Lake, Mich...
I made these pieces much earlier in the summer but I just took good pictures of them. I was loving all the high low skirts so I had to make my own. It was a really easy project, I used a super light weight cotton and just a wide piece of elastic for the waist band. The waist band and the hem are black.
The top pattern I traced off my favorite shirt. Its a really light knit with an even lighter knit underneath, I treated the 2 layers as one and ran in to trouble when it came time to do the hem, but I got done, wouldn’t treat 2 layers as one like that again though. The strips on the knit top run on the cross grain but I really wanted them to go up and down so I cut the top on the cross grain and it worked out well because the top dose not need to stretch at all. (ive used the exact same pattern with a woven). I’m really happy with how both pieces turned out I’ve wore them a bunch over the summer.
