Description

I made this for my oldest son. He’s colorblind, so I needed something with lots of orange in it. This fish fabric was perfect. You can see the original fabric in the photo with the quilt label.

Material Notes

Michael Miller’s Midnight Prize Koi, a beautiful fabric.

I love it! I did a quilt with this technique once with a tropical print. I love the surprise when you finish cutting and start to put the blocks together. Great choice :)

This is amazing. It’s like looking at hundreds of swirling galaxies and stars, that are made out of fish. The pattern of triangles looks simple, but putting them together into those symmetric hexagons takes skill!

Ally, this is wonderful! I wish you posted more & more & more pictures of this quilt, because every single detail is fascinating! What are the final dimensions of the quilt and how much fabric did it take? The back is made from the same fabric, right?
