This is my first tailored garment and while it’s not perfect, it could be a lot worse. You can check out the whole process here, if you’re curious and /or have a masochistic streak.
I made this for my boyfriend and it was supposed to be a Christmas present but it ended up being done right around Valentine’s day instead. Better late than never, I guess.
I used Butterick 2125, which I think is from the 50s.
I also put in a fancy custom label for him to show off. I posted a little tutorial here.

I have some books on men fashion from HAKA Schnittkonstruktionen Müller & Sohn.
As far as I know do they have also an English version. But this books are quiet expensive. You can google the website.
