Description

This is my first complete project. I made it from a Simplicity pattern that was pretty good, but I found it was easier when i did it without the instructions. I also decided to use pleats instead of gathering since it looks neater.

i love the black trim and the waistband on this skirt, it looks great. and i definitely agree, most of the time its easier to ignore the instructions and just make the thing yourself, often they can confuse you even more!

First off love the skirt!! I agree that pleats look more streamline than gathering. It’s great to sew intuitively, from construction order to adding or subtracting details, always go with your own ideas. Even if something fails you learn far more. And you’ll always end up with a piece that is “you”!
