I finished my Hikaru jacket while ago, but I never got around to photographing it. I was inspired to make one by ParaNoire’s beautiful version, and now I wear it several times a week! I omitted the rows of buttons down the front and instead made buttoned pocket flaps for the chest, and instead of using three buttons evenly spaced down the cuffs, I used two buttons near the top of the cuff. I also had to redraft the sleeves because they were too wide and the sleeve caps were enormous. There are a ton of marvelous details in this jacket that make it a fun, challenging project, and give it its urban, military style- I love this pattern – thank you for my new jacket, BurdaStyle!
Black and white wool herringbone flannel/tweed for the shell. Teal jacquard for the lining. Antiqued silvertone buttons, separating zipper.
