Hello Summer - 50s retro dress in red polkadot cotton

Description
I had this fabric for a while, however did not quite had the weather to inspire me.
Well, the wait is over, I managed to transform the fabric into a quick summer, bold dress for a 50s style birthday party.
The cotton is very good quality and absolutely lovely to work with. I would recommend some fabrics with some body for maximum effect. I used a 1956 retro Butterick pattern and added the bias red hemming for a bold, nice touch.
The dress features side concealed zip, 6 panel skirt, silk crepe lined bodice and butterfly wings.
Worn with a crinoline, Moschino Love tote and M&S patent shoes.
Voila!
Material Notes
100% cotton fabric in red polka dots 2.5 m , crepe satin (1/2 m) and good quality bias tape.

The dress is amazing! The fabric is very striking. I just bought this pattern and can’t wait to use it. Several others have also sewn this pattern, it’s amazing how different they are!
