I made this coat from a cotton/ linen blend brocade I picked up at Bears fabric in Louisville. The self drafted pattern includes a nipped in waist and a full circle skirt which has a row of 3” wide horse hair braid in the hem to add more volume and movement. I lined the bodice with silk so it would slide on well and I lined the skirt with upholstery cotton in a bold print that has a kick when it peaks out of the swingy skirt. Instead of buttons I used over-sized snaps and added floral details.
