My second dress! Simplicity Pattern 2951, which was originally going to be African Print before I had a construction nightmare and had to purchase brand new fabric two days before my deadline. As I was working, it seemed way-way-way too plain, so I decided to add a skirt lining and attach lace trim to said lining in order to create a peekaboo effect behind the outside hem.
(laughs) I can’t show you the back; because then I’d have to kill you.
100% Cotton Ginko Print in an art deco style is just too lovely to pass up. The lace trim I just so happened to have in my sewing box. Boning in the bodice side seams to give it some shape.

Oh Thank You! Those little pearl buttons were great luck. I found them in my mother’s old sewing desk.
She probably bought them in the seventies when she actually sewed! (

Omagash…I’d love to have a quilt draped with it, come to think about it.
Haha, since your mom works at a quilting shop do you get great fabrics on sale then?? Gifts of fabric every holiday? :laughs:

Yeah! That’s one of the reasons she works there. (;
It’s awesome to get fabrics at sale prices all the time. He he he.
