Saw Heidi Prom Dress 2 years ago and wanted to make it for my daughter’s College Ball, finally had the courage to sew it…and this is my attempt at emulating the Heidi Prom Dress, with some slight changes. I had such a “ball” sewing this dress although it took me ages to finish it (lots of late nights).
This year is her last year in High School and the Yr 12 ball is this Saturday. Just hope I didn’t embarrass her with this “homemade” dress with my clumsy sewing ;)
What I did was I made a short version of the Heidi Prom (short skirt) and made a V for the back of the top. The skirt had 2 tier of tulle to help with the puffiness and for the long skirt I made petticoat separately from the main long skirt of the Heidi Prom. A sash will wrap around her waist with a big bow in the back (still have to sew that up!)
I had the idea when I saw a Qi Pao wedding gown – a 3 in one dress.

Thank you, glad i’ve finished it though :)
The colour isnt that bright I think it’s because of the flash. Actual colour is deeper more like the last picture seen attached.
