“Hechizo” means a spell in spanish: apparently this dress is the one of Snow White’s mother-in-law, the witch, according to the boyfriend. Well, not that I agree but at least it got a name.
I used Butterick 5556, a reproduction of a 1955’s pattern. I cut one size smaller that my measurments and it’s still a little bit too big, but nothing a belt doesn’t hide.
The fabric is a dark blue wool, the dress is warm enough so I can wear it on its own.
I might do it again in a lighter fabric, maybe cotton for spring, as it was easy enough to make and I love the shape with it’s pointed collar, pockets and wide skirt.

Love this! And ditto on the twirling. Maybe that’s why I love circle skirts so much too?

Very nice. I just love patterns with a circle skirt.. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and did twirls all the time..(my mum use to make my clothes for me).. Fun memories :)

I’m glad my dress brought back those memories to you. And circle skirts remind me of childhood as well: my favourite skirts and dresses were always the ones that twirled the most.
