Hearts to polka dots

Added Dec 3, 2013

by peppit

Athens, Greece

This is an attempt to imitate the Burberry 2013-2014 winter heart look. For the shirt I used a pattern available free on line added epaulets and made the collar detachable. For the skirt I used the same fabric as the one for the collar and vogue’s 8623 pattern adding a seam on the middle of the front piece. I placed an exposed zipper, didn’t line it and didn’t turn up the ‘leather’ for hemming the skirt to avoid any puckering. I think it made the skirt’s lower edge move more naturally. I’ve also added an H&M copycat jersey skirt.

Material Notes

imitation leather
poly crepe marocaine?

Oh! Thank you all for your comments. I’m totally suprised. I would have never excpected for my outfit to have such preference to the burberry one. This is all very encouraging, for an amateur sewist that is.
